These are real magpie wings. They are beautiful pieces ready for taxidermy art, displaying, as an altar piece, or as a smudge fan. They are primarily black with some white and a beautiful deep blue shimmer on the front. In some folklore and witchcraft traditions, magpie wings are believed to possess magical properties, including being associated with divination, wisdom, and change, and are sometimes used as smudge fans. Magpies are often associated with good luck and fortune, especially in Eastern cultures, and can symbolize bridges and the fantasy world. These wings have been collected, dried and preserved to use as a beautifully unusual display item, in jewellery, artworks, or taxidermy. Sourced ethically from the UK, these wings have not been obtained specifically for resale, they are the byproducts of gamekeeping and game dealing or have been found naturally deceased in the wild. They are legal to own and not a CITES protected species. Unlike our taxidermy wings that are fanned out available here, these are preserved folded in and not splayed out. They come singly or in a pair and are around 17-19cm long. This item is sold as a curio item. These natural specimens may have minor defects such as discolouration, war marks, and other oddities.
