Inspired by games like The Quiet Year, Colostle, and Ironsworn, Realms places you and your friends as collaborative storytellers, giving you the freedom to shape the world and its characters as you see fit. Its chapter-by-chapter structure and carefully crafted prompts guide you through the storytelling process, ensuring you never feel stuck and are always in control of your narrative. Realms is a storytelling game and a tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG). However, unlike traditional TTRPGs, Realms doesn’t require a game master or primary storyteller (though alternate rules are included if that’s your preferred style of play). It can be played solo or with others; either way, Realms' mechanics ensure you never feel stuck in your story. With six unique rollbooks offering distinct flavours of adventure, such as high-tech steampunk escapades or wholesome forest village tales, Realms gives you the freedom to explore the world of Etria or your own settings. Its light-touch worldbuilding ensures that while Etria provides a foundation, the focus is always on empowering your story. If you love writing or crafting stories but need a little spark to get started, Realms is the perfect companion. Welcome to Etria Etria is a diverse continent, home to eight unique species that coexist and intermingle across its lands. In Realms, no species is bound to a single culture, reflecting a world where identity is shaped as much by belonging to a country as by the archetype you choose to live by. Set against the remnants of the lost era, Etria offers a world of discovery and intrigue. It’s also part of a larger worldbuilding project featuring two custom languages and several interconnected stories yet to be unveiled. There are six countries in Etria, each with their distinct flavours: Hodi, the cities of metal and ambition, a technological haven where most new magical and technological advancements are made. Yengel, the land of the lost and found, a vast wasteland, often seen as a place for refugees and runaways. Grojie, the land of ancient wisdom, a lush green land known for its free-spirited people and their connection to nature. O’lage, the realm of heat and stone, a land with underground cities where citizens are forced to work in mines Lan Rut, the land of enlightenment, a wet tropical country filled with profoundly religious and scandal-prone people. Blassai, the cities of trade and artistry, a prosperous trading country along a vast stretch of the southeast border. To play Realms, in addition to the included rulebook, a character sheet for each player, and a book of prompts (called a rollbook), you will need a standard deck of cards, a handful of six-sided dice, some small bits of paper to write on, a collection of small tokens, and something to write with.
