The result is a significant weight reduction, while increasing structural integrity for the most demanding conditions. The centerpiece of these wheels are the all new RSL hubset. Built from T7075 Aluminum in a uni-body construction, and weighing in at 245 grams for the pair. Featuring a 24 tooth ratchet for rapid engagement and smooth operating TPI bearings, The RSL hubs help propel the new RS55 SL wheels to unchartered speeds. With the use of a mandrel during the manufacturing process, construction accuracy is greatly improved, resulting in a stronger, and lighter rim. 55MM RIM PROFILE Like the RS55. The RS55 SL features a 55mm depth rim profile. Through rigorous testing in the wind tunnel and on the road, we have discovered that 55mm is the perfect depth to not tip the scales, and provide a significant increase in aerodynamic performance. However, this new rim construction has an increased external width from 25mm to 27.9mm. The result is improved aerodynamics, as the transition from rim to tire is much more seamless. RS55 ON A DIET The RS55 SL features lighter rims than our standard RS55 model. With this new carbon layup comprising of a Toray T800/T100G blend, allows for further weight reduction, and when combined with our new RSL hub set, provides a wheelset barely recognized on a scale at 1315 grams.
