Flat beaks made for rectangular archwire Bends in-plane without twisting the wire Places first, second and third order bends, wire up to .021" x .025" (0.53mm x 0.64mm) Box joint and hardened beaks for a consistent, play-free action Hardened Japanese-standard (JIS) SUS 410J1 stainless steel, fully autoclavable FAQsWhy use a dedicated plier for rectangular wire?Rectangular wire carries torque information. A plier that grips the full face keeps the bend in one plane, so you do not accidentally add unwanted torque while shaping the arch. What wire size does it handle?Up to .021" x .025" (0.53mm x 0.64mm), with beaks .060" wide, parallel at a .020" opening. How should the plier be cared for?Clean and dry it fully before autoclaving, and keep the joint free of debris. Wire-bending pliers last longest when they are not used as cutters, which rounds the beaks and shortens their working life. What material is this instrument made from?It is made from hardened Japanese-standard (JIS) SUS 410J1 stainless steel and withstands repeated autoclave sterilisation.Part of our full orthodontic range covering wire-bending, arch-forming, band, bracket and clear aligner pliers.Browse our full Orthodontic range.Manufactured by InstruDental, UK specialists in dental hand instruments.
