Painter Sigfrid Bengtsson used his palette knife to add some extra structure in the snow, while using a brush to add details like the ladder. From early in his career he exhibited in Malmö and Ystad, and, as his career developed, continued to exhibit to Stockholm and Lund. He was involved in the formation of the artist group Blanden and participated in the group's exhibitions several times. His art consists of wide-ranging landscapes with figures and animals, as well as woodcuts and drawings. Bengtsson is represented at Malmö Museum and Ystad Art Museum.
