Dried broom corn (Sorghum vulgare) Broom Corn isn’t corn at all, but instead a grain plant called sorghum that is used in the making of traditional brooms. It looks much like corn when it grows, but instead of corn ears it produces natural red-orange seed pod heads atop straw broom-style stalks.
