Discovered as a "bud sport", Oregon, 1950's and a second one in the 1970's, Red D'Anjou Pears are large and the flesh is white. and juicy. It is a naturally sweet pear, red in color. The pear stores very well. The best flavor is realized when stored 1-2 months. The tree is very hardy, large and highly productive. The tree requires cross pollination with Bartlett or any other pear with the same bloom period.
