This variety of nectarine produces large, freestone nectarines with yellow flesh and blushed red skin. The fruit is like a peach but without the fuzz and can be eaten fresh or preserved. Red Gold nectarines are freestone, which means that the flesh easily separates from the pit. This makes them easy to eat fresh, canned, or baked. Red Gold is best grown in zones 5-9 and is is self-pollinating, meaning it can produce fruit without a pollination partner. However, planting multiple nectarine trees can increase cross-pollination and potentially lead to a more abundant harvest. Pollinate with Durbin Nectarine trees. Mature height & width is 12-15'. Our nectarine trees are 3 year trees that our sold in 5 gallon lines and are approximately 5' tall and have a trunk of approximately 1".
