Dating from 1800-1900, these gorgeous, cranberry-red trade beads were extremely popular because of their white dots and white glass centers. Throughout history, dots have been cate gorized as “eye” beads; they have special powers to protect (especially infants) and keep away evil spirits. This particular bead is also highly collectible because they are rare cranberry glass layered on a white cane. This latest batch is even more beautiful than pictured. Each bead is unique.
