Part of an ongoing series modifying pre-existing, mass-produced ‘found’ images from books and publications or individual photographs or strangers. I overpaint to obscure the main s ubjects - crudely and blatantly, with a dash of humour and disrespect – creating odd and beguiling new compositions.This activity of redacting considers what it means to remove, obscure and edit; in order to hide and conceal a reality, but also offer a space to fantasize new potential versions or truths. Doctoring has been going on since image-making began. These pieces do not hide the fact of an intervention, it becomes the subject. Show more
