Small, bright red fruit hangs in clusters from a small growing deciduous bush. The berries are very high in vitamin C, with a tart taste, and can be used in juices, preserves and j ellies, as well as eaten fresh. Red Currants are self fertile, however sometimes an improved crop can be experienced when another variety is planted nearby.
