When life takes unexpected twists and turns that lead you to a place that is completely different than where you thought you’d be, it’s okay to grieve the life you thought you were supposed to have. At the same time I hope you will let yourself go down new paths of joy to find and intentionally create the life you are now living. This painting invites you to hold space for both of these things: the grief and sadness of a life not lived and the hope and joy that come with 'Redefining Your Purpose'. Both/ And. The inspiration behind the painting:When I think about my life before my endometriosis and adenomyosis got so bad, it feels like I am thinking about a *different* life. A *different* me. I can’t even imagine being that me anymore, having that kind of energy. Being sick changes who you are. I have felt a lot of sadness about that. And to be honest, I still do. I do not believe that everything happens for a reason. Some things are just hard. Painful. Unfair. What I do believe in though, is your capacity to adapt. To see things in a new light. To learn to find joy and beauty in places you never even thought to look. That doesn’t mean that bad things will cease to happen, but it does mean that life can be good in new ways:You can find connection in new ways. You can find avenues of wonder in new ways. You can find joy in new ways. An original mixed media painting, 60 x 80 cm, acrylic paint, oil pastels, pencil. The painting has been built, layer by layer, mark by mark, until a beautifully, balanced work of art emerged – deep and complex.
