Redpointe' boasts dark green, heat-resistant leaves that turn BRILLIANT RED in early autumn. Fall air and soil temperatures and moisture will affect the leaf color from year to yea r, so in some years, leaves turn more orange than red. 'Redpointe' typically colors up in October, along with 'Autumn Blaze', while 'October Glory' colors 2-4 weeks later. In spring, before leafing out, 'Redpointe' produces the attractive red flowers for which "red" maples are named. NOTE: These trees are much more deeply rooted than Silver Maples (which often have surface roots). This also makes for a stronger tree with less likelihood to topple during intense storms or ice.
