Brooklyn-based trio Rhyton have evolved their sound since 2011, incorporating unusual instrumentation and compositions on their third release for Thrill Jockey, Redshift. Dave Shuf ord (No-Neck Blues Band) uses alternate tunings, string-twisting, and varied speakers/pedals for unique sounds in their deeply-rooted Middle Eastern and Greek folk melodies.
