Description A native of Manchuria China, the Dawn Redwood (Metasequoia Glyptostroboides) makes a wonderful bonsai tree. It was thought to be extinct until it's "re-discovery" in th e 1940's" Like the beloved Redwoods of California, the bark is a distinct red. The foliage is a lacy green, that will change color in the fall -- and fall off. This redwood is Deciduous. Keep outdoors. Specification 5 years old, 13"-16" tall. Produces 5-6mm cones during spring.
