The ointment formulation remains on the ocular surface throughout the night rather than draining away, delivering the most prolonged protection of any over-the-counter dry eye product.White Petrolatum (57.3%) is the primary active — an ultra-effective occlusive agent that forms a thick, protective moisture barrier over the ocular surface and inner eyelid during sleep, preventing the transepidermal and transocular water loss that causes morning dry eye symptoms, crusting, and discomfort. Mineral Oil (42.5%) provides the complementary lubricating component — a smooth, long-lasting ophthalmic-grade lubricant that reduces friction between the eyelid and corneal surfaces throughout the night.
