In fashion, there is quiet luxury. In interior design, it’s time to meet “relaxed luxury,” an of-the-moment décor movement coined by renowned architect and designer Chad Dorsey, wh o details what it means to live laidback (yet still elevated) in Relaxed Luxury. The book showcases over a dozen of the longtime Texan’s most notable projects over the past two decades, complete with advice (everything from paint colors to space-saving tricks), insight, and mood boards from Dorsey on how to translate the style of haute relaxation in your own space. Readers will tour penthouse pied-à-terres, historic homes, and modern bungalows around the Lonestar State, discovering a powerful voice in the American design canon and originator of a wholly original aesthetic that has captured the imagination of a nation. “Relaxed luxury is the idea of living casually with things a person loves to touch and feel in a way that is approachable and not precious. Relaxed luxury is understated,” says Dorsey. “Often quiet, it can go unnoticed, but the user with a discerning eye will appreciate the details and the soothing feeling.” Show more
