Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis): Known as the “happiest plant on earth,” lemon balm has a remarkable ability to uplift the spirit. It can offer lightheartedness while driving away grief and sadness. Milky oats (Avena sativa): Milky oats work to replenish and rejuvenate a worn-down nervous system. Because they tone and nourish nerves, milky oats are a great remedy for people who feel on edge or burnt out. St. John’s Wort (Hypericum perforatum): St. John’s Wort (SJW) pairs well with milky oats, similarly boosting mood and restoring the nerves. Known as “sunshine in bottle,” SJW can ease anxiety and assuage seasonal affective disorder or depression. Rose petal (Rosa rubra): Heart-opening and empowering, rose petals can help address pain, trauma and shock. Rose is a great ally for moving through grief, and especially useful for releasing pent up emotion. Dandelion leaf (Taraxacum officinale): Dandelion leaves may assist in the release of stored emotions like anger and fear. To boot, the leaves of the plant are vitamin- and mineral-packed. Cautions: Consult with a qualified health practitioner before consuming, especially if pregnant or nursing. May interact with thyroid medication.
