Description The RIDGID 31487 Repair Coupling is a precision-engineered splicing component designed to restore continuity in 5/8" drain-cleaning cables used with RIDGID drum/auger machines. When a cable becomes damaged or severed, this coupling allows tradespeople to rejoin the two cable ends securely—extending cable life and maintaining tool performance. Easy installation in the field — With minimal tools, the coupling can be installed onsite, reducing downtime and repair effort. OEM assurance — As a genuine RIDGID replacement part, you retain system integrity and compatibility with your existing RIDGID setups. Lightweight & compact — Does not add significant bulk to the cable — ideal for tight spaces and quick repairs. Suggested Use Cases Repairing a broken 5/8" cable on a RIDGID drum machine without needing full cable replacement Maintaining drain-cleaning systems in service vans or maintenance shops where quick cable fixes are valuable Backup part for plumbing/drain professionals so that they can respond to cable failures on-site
