With the success of our previous versions of our replica Mills grenades, we wanted to improve on our design by including even more steel components to make these some of the best replicas on the market today. New features include: New steel spoon precision cut and curved to match original examples Metal stamp "makers mark" at the base of the spoon (not laser engraved) Milled steel "fill" cap in the side of the body Solid steel plunger Cadmium plated pin and ring Spring loaded spoon Disassembles like an original Proper transparent brown "lacquer" paint finish Other features include: Injection molded impact resistant plastic body Injection molded plastic "tail cap" proper red and green paint markings copied directly from original examples. We designed all the steel components of these replicas from scratch to ensure the closest representation to the original Mills design to include a properly cut and curved spoon that "hugs" the profile of the grenade body and is finished with a metal stamp "makers mark" (not laser engraved). This replica disassembles just like an original and the spring loaded plunger allows the pin to be pulled and the spoon to be authentically "flung" off the body just like an original. The most stunning feature of this replica is the paint job. We paint our replicas side by side with an original example to match the Mills Bomb's unique "lacquered" finish as well as identification markings. The British, in an attempt to help weather proof their grenades would paint their iron cast grenade bodies with a lacquer compound that gave the dark gray/black iron a brown hue. As a result the red "X's" and green band around the body of the replica will vary from body to body. This variance is compounded by the brown "lacquer" the bodies are treated with making the red X's and green bands more obscure.
