Inspiration behind the piece "When presented with this piece, I was slightly put off by the jacket. For it resembled something Buffalo Bill would create out of his victims. I sat with the piece and embraced the macabre energy it embodied and wanted to change the direction of how I was perceiving it. So I painted a young girl holding a flower, sewing herself together. Bringing a softer whimsical energy to the jacket. And if you follow the thread, you will see it is attached to the word repurpose. Tying in the whole piece"-Danbi About the artist: Danbi ( 단비 ) is a bi-racial, ball-busting, self-taught artist. Born on American soil but raised throughout different regions of China, while never shaking her American-Korean heritage, she absorbed the world through the eyes of a mutt. Danbi seeks to share and connect with people who experience the world in a similar way, to see the world and have the compassion to understand it.
