Description: Restec FlexiTec 2020 Two-Part Epoxy Metal Primer is a high-performance primer designed to prepare metal substrates before the application of the FlexiTec 2020 waterproofing system. Supplied as a two-component epoxy system, the primer provides a strong, durable bonding layer between suitably prepared metal surfaces and the FlexiTec membrane. Restec specifies the Twin-Pack Epoxy Metal Primer as one of the recommended primers for metal substrates within the FlexiTec system. It is ideal for roofing applications involving metal details, penetrations, outlets, flashings and other areas where reliable adhesion to the metal substrate is required. The primer can be used as part of the FlexiTec system when coating suitably prepared metal areas. Restec's application guidance covers metal substrates including galvanised steel, aluminium, copper and lead, with specific surface preparation required depending on the metal being treated. Before priming, metal surfaces should be clean, dry and free from rust, oxidation, grease, loose coatings and contamination. Depending on the substrate, abrasion or additional preparation may be required before the primer is applied. The primer consists of two components which are mixed together before application. Once correctly combined, the epoxy formulation provides a robust prepared surface ready for subsequent application of the FlexiTec waterproofing system.
