Reserve Barrel Rum 700ml · 40% ABV · Handcrafted in Burleigh Heads, Queensland Our Reserve Barrel Rum is a rich, full-bodied Australian rum, aged for three years in ex-bourbon barrels before being finished in ex-Muscat casks. The Muscat cask finish brings a juicy, almost port-like richness to the rum, with ripe stone fruit and dried fruit layered over the warmth of the molasses and oak. Smooth, generous and full of flavour, this is a proper sipping rum designed to be enjoyed neat or over ice. How It’s Made We start with Queensland blackstrap molasses, ferment it slowly and distil the rum in our double-retort copper pot still at our Burleigh Heads distillery. The rum is matured for three years in ex-bourbon barrels in Queensland’s warm coastal climate, developing depth, toasted oak, vanilla and gentle spice. Once matured, it is finished in ex-Muscat casks. This final stage brings another dimension to the rum, adding juicy stone fruit, dried fruit and a rich, port-like character. There are no added sugars, artificial flavours or artificial colours. Just properly made rum, time and good barrels. Tasting Notes Rich and aromatic on the nose, with juicy stone fruit, dried fruit and toasted oak. The palate is full-bodied and smooth, with ripe plum, rich molasses, dried fruit and caramel, followed by vanilla and gentle oak spice. The Muscat cask finish brings a luscious, almost port-like quality, with jammy fruit. The finish is long and warming, with lingering stone fruit, dried fruit and oak. Made Properly, Made Here Every batch is distilled, matured, finished and bottled by hand at our Burleigh Heads distillery. We work in small batches, carefully select our barrels and taste every run before it leaves the distillery.
