Welcome to the Course This course is designed for beginners who want to make unique and functional wall art using epoxy resin and clock mechanisms.You will learn how to work with color blends, layering, and how to install a working clock mechanism in your finished piece. Course Highlights: Project Type: round resin wall clock (30–40 cm diameter) Materials: resin, pigments, MDF base, clock kit, optional embellishments Skills: color mixing, pouring, layering, polishing, installation Focus: 70% hands-on creation, 30% setup and safety Module 1: Surface Prep & Planning (Video: ~20 min) Start with preparing the MDF base and sketching a simple layout. Steps: Use MDF board with center hole (pre-drilled or marked) Seal and sand surface to reduce bubbles Sketch your design or color zones with pencil or chalk Plan clock number layout (minimalist, Roman, bold, or no numbers) Module 2: Resin Mixing & Color Design (Video: ~30 min) Choose your color palette and mix your resin with pigments or pastes. Steps: Measure and mix resin thoroughly (1:1 or 2:1 ratio) Divide resin into small cups for each color Add mica powders, pastes, or alcohol inks Test color on sample surface before pouring Work within pot life (30–45 min) to avoid waste Module 3: Pouring Techniques (Video: ~35 min) Create your base design using fluid art techniques. Steps: Dirty pour, ring pour, swipe or beach effect Use heat gun or torch to pop bubbles and blend colors Optional: add gold leaf, crushed glass or glitter in accents Let layer partially cure (4–6 hours) before topcoat Module 4: Doming & Surface Finish (Video: ~25 min) Add a protective and glossy top layer for a professional finish. Steps: Mix a fresh clear batch of resin for top layer Apply slowly to avoid overflowing edges Level surface and check for dust or hairs Optional: sand and polish after curing if needed Module 5: Installing Clock Mechanism (Video: ~20 min) Turn your art into a functional timepiece. Steps: Mark center and drill hole if not pre-drilled Install clock mechanism and hands (hour, minute, second) Test battery and hand movement Secure from back and balance weight Add hook or hanger for wall display Module 6: Creative Variations (Video: ~15 min) Ideas to experiment with your next resin clock.
