There’s something special about loading up your painting gear and heading out to find a scene that just feels right. This 12x12 oil painting came from one of those moments a quiet entrance into a farmer’s field that made me stop and take it all in. It’s not about painting every detail exactly, but capturing what drew me there. The fall colours, the cut fields, the blue water tower, and the barn in the distance all came together in a simple, beautiful way. Painted around 5pm, the low sun cast long shadows across the land something I always love exploring. That mix of light and shadow really brings the scene to life. It’s a bit of everything, and an easy piece to just slow down with and enjoy.
