With its attractive design and rich oak grain, this vintage bureau bookcase will make a great addition to any office, study, or living space. The lower section of the bureau has a top that folds down, offering a practical platform for writing or working from a laptop. The support arms need to be manually pulled out to create a sturdy workspace. Inside are storage compartments for storing letters, paperwork, or stationery. Below, there is a full-width drawer and a shelved cupboard space. The upper section is a lockable glazed bookcase with two shelves and a base shelf. The attractive leaded glass adds to the overall appeal of this fabulous piece. One key is provided for both the display cabinet and the cupboard. We have restored this charming bureau bookcase by stripping back the previous finish to reveal the beautiful tones of the grain before applying a clear matt lacquer to accentuate the beauty of the wood and offer protection. We have replaced the main flap, which was warped and have added wooden knobs to the drawer as the old handles were damaged. You can still see the holes where the previous handles were located in the photos. As with all furniture of this age, there are some minor cosmetic imperfections: some stains and a few signs of wear and tear, speaking of the bureau's great age. We believe they are all part of the story of this lovely piece and add to its overall character. The dimensions below show the maximum width of this piece. The height is shown as the total height followed in brackets by the height of the writing surface formed by the open bureau lid. The depth is shown as the depth with the lid closed followed in brackets by the depth with the bureau lid open. The classic design, stained glass and beautiful oak grain, will ensure this piece becomes a firm favourite in any home. It will fit seamlessly within a range of decors, both traditional and contemporary. [dimensions] [w]76[/w] [d]33(58)[/d] [h]167(76)[/h] [/dimensions]
