The sculpted frame, spindle back, and gently angled arms give it a light architectural feel, while the generous cushions make it a proper everyday lounge piece. We sourced this pair of Restored Carl Malmsten Visingsö sofas from Sweden and imported them to the UK, then restored them properly with the aim of creating a finished, designer-ready set that can go straight into a home or project. Both Carl Malmsten’s Visingsö sofas have been reupholstered in Andrew Martin Molfetta Chalk a rustic open weave with soft linen chenille in a white-washed cream tone, finished with a stain repellent treatment. We hand-selected the fabric for its texture and warmth; reupholstery was carried out by Sam Skirrow. Alongside the upholstery, we refreshed the oak frames with careful restoration: the woodwork has been cleaned and revived, joints repaired where needed, and the frames re-polished to bring back the depth of the timber while keeping the character that makes vintage oak so special.
