Resurgence The Soft Animals collection celebrates the poetry of life, femininity, and nature. Each print reflects a different facet of the female experience - tenderness, strength, softness, and introspection. Resurgence was inspired by the writings of Anaïs Nin. The print depicts a woman in profile, eyes closed, her head lifted toward a rising red moon. Suspended between howl and peace, the gesture evokes a quiet act of return - a reclaiming of the self after love, loss, and transformation. The work reflects Nin’s belief in emotional depth and autonomy: the understanding that a woman belongs wholly to herself. The rising moon becomes a symbol of recurrence and renewal - fall, rise, fall, rise again. A piece for women who recognise the rhythm of their own tides, and who continue to rise in their own time. Each piece is hand-printed on delicate Japanese washi paper, chosen for its soft texture and subtle translucency, which brings a gentle depth to the printed line. Each print is numbered and marked with Josie's maker’s mark.
