An exceptional French Oak Tawny Port cask aged for just a few months shy of 5 years, then finished for a further 12 months in a custom-made barrel crafted from a selection of premium American Oak Bourbon staves from a number of distilleries; a finishing first for the Killara team. This was the audience pick of the night at our recent Whisky & Alement tasting. Bottle Size: 500ml ABV: 52.0% ABV Outturn: 80 bottles Distillery Tasting Notes Nose: Hot buttered toast, brandy butterscotch; lightly spiced dried ruby fruits. Palate: Creamy mouthfeel with notes of sweet toffee caramel and light plum pudding Finish: A warming, rich malted barley finish that lingers long Our Tasting Notes Nose: Vanilla rice pudding with a dollop of blackberry jam Palate: A double shot latte topped with spun sugar, sat alongside a freshly baked scone with fresh cream and jam Finish: Long finish of sweet, decadent butterscotch fudge with a dusting of mixed baking spices
