Peptan Collagen Peptides – Collagen is a unique protein that makes up to 70% of the skin while also being the most abundant protein in the body. Collagen is the major insoluble fibrous protein in the extracellular matrix of the skin, with the most abundant form being type 1 Collagen. Collagen peptides are a special form of collagen in which the protein has been hydrolysed. This means that the protein is broken down into smaller chains of amino acids, making it bioavailable and more easily absorbed by the body. Phytoceramides – Environmental factors such as cold weather and sun exposure, can have a detrimental effect on the skin. This skin is the barrier between the body and the environment around us and Ceramides play a key role in the skins barrier function. Ceramides are a type of naturally occurring, long-chain fatty acid which make up to 50% of the skins epidermis (it’s outer layer). Phytoceramides refer to Ceramides derived from plants, as opposed to synthetic or animal-derived Ceramides. Hyaluronic Acid – The skin is the heaviest and largest organ in the body, making up about one seventh of our body weight.
