This brand-new V2 circuit revision adjusted the mids for additional clarity even when you've scooped your tone, as well as adding additional versatility in the lower gain ranges for a smooth transition from low to medium gain settings especially when using your guitar's volume knob. the red channel Revv's G-Series pedals are all-analog 'amps-in-a-box' based on the channels of our flagship Generator 120 MK3 amplifier. The G4 is the Red fat high gain channel. The foil to the Purple channel, if the G3 is a scalpel - the G4 is a sledgehammer. Plenty of gain on tap & tons of thick low end make the G4 well suited to more scooped rhythm tones, round & smooth solos, & chewy crunch tones. three voices The G4 utilizes the 3 Aggression voices from our Generator tube amplifiers. In Red mode you'll get the most distortion & the easiest feel under the fingers: a go-to for many lead guitarists. Blue is great for thick wall-of-sound rhythm tones. Due to its bass response & smooth voicing, with the switch off G4 actually excels as a low/medium gain "cranked amp" oldschool overdrive. the technical details The G4 has a lot of gain on tap, so don't be afraid to set the Gain knob quite low if it's working for you. You can run the Bass high if you're going to boost G4 with an overdrive, but we otherwise find the sweet spot to be 9:00-12:00 for most players using humbuckers. It's a simple & toneful all-analog pedal that runs on traditional isolated 9 volt center negative power supplies. authentic tone Our amp-voiced overdrive pedals have been a fan-favorite since the release of the original G3 in 2018. Manufactured in Canada to rugged quality standards. design What's fun about designing for the Red channel vs the Purple channel is we largely get to focus on the differences in feel. Of course there are major tonal differences in the high end & mids, but they're both versatile high gain channels. Purple channel is all about a fast attack & Red channel is about a smoother more compressed tone, so we get to focus on that first & then see where the sound takes us. That's why in addition to the modern rock rhythm & "bubbly neck pickup" lead tones the G4 is known for - we've also found it has a dedicated fanbase of players using it with Aggression off for it's spongier feel & colorful lower midrange when used for classic rock & blues tones.
