Julian and Nadine Haart are two of Germany's most sought-after producers. They cut their teeth training under master Egon Müller and the acclaimed king of Riesling Klaus Peter Keller. Known for crafting gorgeous wines in the Mosel, here they the are actually utilizing Rheinhessen grapes. The story behind Julian & Nadine's 'Rote Erden' Riesling is an incredible one, being an arrangement beginning in 2018 between the Haarts and Keller. Keller was granted access to the Haarts 0.7 hectare Piesporter Schubertslay vineyard in the Mosel, and in exchange, Keller granted the Haarts access to two of his most exciting vineyard sites in the Rheinhessen: the Grosse Lage Frauenberg and Zellerweg am Schwarzen Herrgott. It is from these to sites that Julian and Nadine select the top barrels and craft this exquisite declassified Grosse Lage Riesling. 2024 was graciously a cooler vintage, and this dry wine shows lemon-lime blossom, crushed rocks, and herbal spice, with glossy almost iridescent acidity. This is Grand Cru-tier wine without the price tag. 12.0% ABV
