RiCE — Issue 35 / Other Side of YokohamaIssue 35 of RiCE turns to Yokohama — Japan's first treaty port, and a city whose food culture has been shaped by Western, Latin American and Asian immigration in equal measure. The issue moves past the standard sightseeing route to find long-established cafés, late-night bars and the immigrant kitchens that quietly feed the rest of the city.RiCE is a bi-monthly Japanese food magazine that treats restaurants and recipes as cultural texts: less interested in the food shot than in the lineage, the location and the people. Useful for anyone who cooks, travels to Japan, or just wants a more considered view of what a food magazine can be. UK cover price £21. Show more
