Handmade from American cherry wood. The rice paddle (Shamoji) was invented in 18th century Japan for mixing and serving rice. Rice paddles are also used for mixing vinegar with ric e for making sushi. A wooden paddle will not cut rice grains in half or scratch the surface of the cooker. Show more
