WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION Join us to tackle the art of weaving on a rigid heddle loom! In this workshop, we'll focus on basics skills from planning out projects to setting up the loom. Once the loom is dressed, we will practice plain weave and variations like stripes and shapes. By the end of this 2-part workshop, students will walk away with a small woven sample of their new skills, or be well on their way to creating a woven scarf of their own! In this weaving workshop, you'll learn how to: Warp a rigid heddle loom Thread the reed and harness Tie up the loom Wind weft threads and work with stick shuttles Weave Plain or Tabby Weave and variations such as stripes and shapes A note about materials: Tools and materials are not included in the registration fee; students must provide their own rigid heddle loom and worsted weight yarn.
