Rikki Tikki is part of the Rouge series of dwarf crapemrtyle. They are unique due to their compact silver, maroon, deep green foliage and outstanding blooms. These compact crape my rtles are a very fast growing shrub that fills with gorgeous clusters of dark pink blooms from July to September, and both beautiful, hearty, and very drought resistant once established. The dark green leaves provide a perfect backdrop for the blooms and a beautiful contrast to the brighter greens of your garden. The blooms of a crape myrtle are a magnificent display that attract flocks of hummingbirds and butterflies through the summer months. These dark pink crape myrtles produce 4” to 6” clusters of dark pink flowers that can last for many weeks or even months. The leaves of crape myrtles are a unique glossy dark mocha/green. Expect Rouge to reach 5 to 6 feet of new growth. In zone 6 this may die back to the ground, but as long as winter remains mild the growth will come back. Rouge keeps a shrub like form, which makes it perfect for a shrub border, a backdrop in front of a fence, lining a drive, or planting on the corner of a house. Show more
