Upgrade your Spridget for better highway cruising! These mated pair sets have a 3.90 ratio, slightly taller than the original (4.22, as used in Bugeyes). With the 3.9 gear set, you will enjoy a roughly 10 percent RPM reduction on the highway in fourth gear, which is nice for longer trips. Many of these ring and pinions are worn ... upgrade yours with fresh gears! NOTE: These ring and pinion sets will ONLY fit in later Sprite differential carriers! To tell which one you have in your Bugeye/Sprite/Midget, look for a fill plug in the side of the carrier, towards the mating surface where it bolts to the rear axle tube. If you see a fill plug in this area, this is an early style carrier and this ring and pinion WILL NOT WORK!! If your carrier has no plug in this area, you will be good to go.
