The peg insert allows the tool to be fitted into a compatible mounted holder, helping keep the clamp steady while the ring is being worked on. The split timber clamp section grips the ring while providing a softer contact surface than metal jaws, making it useful for working on delicate or polished jewellery pieces. This setup is especially practical for jewellers who prefer a bench-mounted holding position rather than a fully hand-held ring clamp. • MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS •[Product type: ring clamp with bench peg][Peg insert dimensions: 11.2mm x 55.7mm][Material: timber / wood][Profile: split ring clamp with bench peg insert][Use: holding rings during filing, sanding, polishing, engraving, setting, and repair work][Suitable materials: gold, silver, platinum, brass, copper, and other jewellery metals] • USAGE & APPLICATIONS •Perfect for jewellers, setters, students, hobbyists, and small workshops requiring a secure bench-supported tool for ring work. Fit the peg section into a compatible bench peg holder, place the ring into the split clamp end, and secure the piece gently before working. This ring clamp with bench peg is ideal for polishing ring exteriors, filing and refining shanks, supporting rings during engraving, assisting with stone setting preparation, and holding pieces steady during repair or finishing work. It is best suited to controlled bench tasks where a stable mounted position and timber holding surface are preferred. • CARE & SAFETY •Ensure the peg insert is seated securely in the holder before use to prevent movement during filing, sanding, or polishing. Tighten or grip only enough to hold the ring securely, as excessive pressure may distort delicate rings or damage the timber clamp. Use protective tape or a suitable barrier for highly polished or easily marked surfaces where needed. Keep the timber clean and dry, and remove filings or polishing compound after use. Eye protection is recommended when filing, sanding, polishing, engraving, setting, or working with small components.
