Plantain Seed (Che Qian Zi), Poria (Fu Ling), Atractylodis Rhizome (Bai Zhu), Water Plantain Rhizome (Ze Xie), and Umbel Polypore Mushroom (Zhu Ling) promote urination to drain dampness. Remove Damp Stagnation - When enough dampness accumulates, it can stagnate and block the regulated flow in the body causing edema and/or water retention. Plantain Seed (Che Qian Zi), particularly when paired with Poria (Fu Ling) and Atractylodis Rhizome (Bai Zhu), helps release edema. Umbel Polypore Mushroom (Zhu Ling) and Water Plantain Rhizome (Ze Xie) leaches dampness to relieve retention along with Cassia Twig (Gui Zhi). Plantain Herb (Che Qian Cao) is used to clear heat and resolve toxicity for abscesses and swelling used both topically and internally.
