WENDY HEATH Mixed Media (FRAMED) 106cm x 84.5cm Location: Onsite Wendy Heath is a full-time artist based in the Melbourne suburb of Croydon. She holds an Honours Degree in Fine Art from R.M.I.T., which she completed in 1989. An award-winning artist, Heath has received many first prizes and honorable mentions in art shows across Victoria and has works in private collections both interstate and overseas. Heath’s work finds excitement and humor in the ordinary things in life. Her recent paintings are inspired by the frustrations and chaos of "Women's Work," exploring the roles, perceptions, and expectations of women. Collage, using torn or cut pieces from women's magazines, plays a significant role in her work, adding to the clutter and chaos of the composition to represent the patchwork of disorder in the lives of these women. Her paintings convey mixed messages of give and take, of dreams fulfilled or unfulfilled, and promises kept or broken.
