The Rival Strength Adjustable Leg Press & Hack Squat is a versatile tool for your home gym or PT Studio. This machine features our unique adjustable angle mechanism, allowing you to quickly and easily change the angle of the carriage between 30 and 60 degrees. The angle of the Leg Press and Hack squat can be adjusted in 5-degree increments, enabling a vast range of exercises and unique strength profiles to cater for different needs. 30-40 Degrees: By adjusting the angle closer to 30 degrees it reduces the felt weight of the carriage, meaning there is less resistance. The lower angle also reduces compression (by providing a more natural hip-knee-ankle movement pattern, preventing hyperflexion and excessive stress on the knee joint and lower back) this is ideal for beginners, for use in warm-up sets or even rehabilitation work. 45 Degrees: Having the Leg Press / Hack Squat at 45 degrees is more the 'standard' angle you will find on most machines. This angle offers a good mix of quad, glute and hamstring activation while offering a more natural movement pattern (similar to a squat, but with more stability). This angle also offers a good balance between joint safety and muscle activation. 50-60 Degrees: Closer to 60 degrees you will notice more resistance when loading the same weight as lower angles, as gravity acts more directly with it being more vertical. You will be able to generate a greater range of motion in the hips and knees if mobility allows, this will offer greater glute and hamstring recruitment. Angles closer to 60 degrees also provide better efficiency when it comes to progressive overloading, while reducing the amount of weight required in your gym (this can be beneficial for home gyms, where a limited amount of weight is accessible). The Leg press & Hack squat is also suitable for reverse hack squats, this is perfect when in the 60 degree angle setting - the machine has elongated shoulder pads and ergonomically positioned handles to open up this exercise variation. To change between Leg Press and Hack Squat, the back pad is either inserted in the carriage or bottom footplate of the machine. When the pad is inserted in the bottom footplate, it can be used for Leg Press, and when inserted in the carriage it can be used as a hack squat. The machine can also be used for Calf Raises. The bottom rest has 4 adjustment levels, to get the perfect angle for both leg press and hack squats. When in the Leg Press position, the foot plate can also be angled to suit the users needs and the angle of the carriage itself (30 - 60 degrees).
