A vital part of any product’s lifecycle is restyling. A watch should be vibrant and interwoven with a brand’s organic aesthetic growth. The RM 011, a mainstay of the Richard Mille collection since 2007, is making its debut. It will make way for the new RM 11-03 Automatic Flyback Chronograph by retiring at the pinnacle of its splendor. Richard Mille’s design philosophy was to give the new automatic RMAC3 caliber a 3-D quality and visually emphasize its complexity. The colored counters of the second window and flyback chronograph are surrounded by glossy, beveled rims marked with intermediate times to add depth. An upper bridge made of satin-brushed grade 5 titanium that contrasts with the movement, which is also made of titanium but has a PVD coating, heightening the sensation of volume. This produces a visual itinerary around the annual calendar with its oversized date and the flyback chronograph’s 12-hour counter and countdown feature.
