Place the insert only flat in the centre of the microwave. Add a microwave-safe cup of cold water beside it – this helps prevent the grains from drying out or overheating. Heat for 2½ to 3 minutes on medium heat (600–1000W microwave). Shake or turn the bag halfway through to help the heat spread evenly. Let the insert cool completely before reheating.
