ROASTER’S CHOICEAUGUST 2026ELVIS TINEO, PERU Origin: Peru Region: El Diamante, Jaén Varietal: Catuai, Catimor Process: Washed Coffee is a family tradition for Elvis Tineo Rafael, with knowledge passed down from his grandparents, through his parents, to him. In 2016, his father gifted him one hectare of the family’s land, and La Naranja was born, named after the orange trees planted alongside the coffee. Tucked into the highlands of Jaén, the farm sits beside a forest that brings frequent rainfall, creating a cool, humid microclimate suited to coffee. Elvis and his small team nurture the soil with organic matter and reused coffee by-products. Despite the challenges of drought and leaf rust, Elvis takes pride in carrying his family’s legacy forward, producing coffee that reaches far beyond Peru. Expect a sweet, syrupy cup with rich notes of toffee and golden syrup, layered with red grape and a gentle hazelnut warmth. We recommend pairing with: Hazelnut Biscotti How do I brew this coffee?
