Have you discovered the Merlin app? You can identify a bird by recording it's song. It shows you a visual record of the song - which i just love! So i've used those recordings alon g with colours and shapes in the area i was in (the texture and colour of moss near by or the landscape for example) and collaged them together along with a drawing of the bird.
