Robin is a small dessert pear flushed with red, hence its name. Originating from Norwich. It is widely believed that Robin is a heritage variety of another name "London Sugar", whi ch traces back to 1796. In any case Robin was known before the 1900's. Robin is very sweet, with tender, melting and very juicy flesh. It is best eaten soon after picking as it will not keep for long. Not self-fertile so will require a pollinating partner.
