One of these three methods should be followed (please see manual below for more details): If your attic space is greater than 15" in your flat ceiling installation, you should have room to install the attic insulation shield If your ceiling support protrudes 10" into the attic space, you can fit a storm collar around the chimney pipe and this would act as your attic insulation shield.
