It is designed for operators who want more direct brew-temperature control than a traditional heat exchanger without requiring an individual brew boiler for every group. 4LCoffee boiler One brew boiler supplies both saturated groups.9LSteam boiler Separate steam system with pressure-transducer control.4.3″Touchscreen Volumetric programming and shot-time feedback. Its value lies in that separation. Adjusting the coffee system does not require using steam-boiler pressure as the main brew-temperature control. Both groups share the coffee boiler, so Doppia is especially relevant when the bar wants one well-managed brewing temperature across the two stations. Buyers who need different temperatures at each group should compare the R9 instead. How Doppia’s Thermal Architecture Supports Service RE Doppia display, brew group and steam controls. One coffee boiler feeding two saturated groups The saturated-group arrangement keeps the groups closely coupled to the coffee system. PID regulation manages that shared brewing environment. It provides a controlled baseline for repeated extraction, but does not replace warm-up, grinder calibration or consistent puck preparation. A displayed temperature is one recipe variable, not proof that every shot tastes identical. A separate steam boiler with pressure-transducer control The 9-liter service boiler supplies steam and hot water separately from the coffee boiler. Its pressure transducer provides electronic pressure feedback to the control system. Boiler reserve, heating power and actual milk demand all matter during a rush; the presence of two boilers should not be converted into an unsupported cups-per-hour claim. Shot timing and automatic portions Programmed water portions let baristas shift attention to milk and assembly while extraction runs. Standard shot timers help reveal changes in flow. Verify programmed doses against actual beverage weight and taste, especially after a new coffee or meaningful grind adjustment. Doppia is volumetric, not a machine that automatically weighs every drink. Rocket Doppia 2 Group Specifications Architecture Dual boiler; two fully saturated brew groups Coffee boiler 4 L, shared by the two groups Main / service boiler 9 L Control PID coffee-system regulation; pressure-transducer steam control Dosing and timers Automatic volumetric portions; shot timers standard Rated power 5.0 kW; confirm regional voltage, phase, required circuit and connector Dimensions 848 W × 603 D × 500 H mm; approximately 33.4 × 23.7 × 19.7 in Materials AISI 304 stainless-steel body; AISI 316L stainless-steel boilers Steam wands Stainless steel with cool-touch construction Cup platform Adjustable height. Rocket’s webpage lists 85/125mm positions; its brochure lists approximately 80–130mm. Verify the supplied configuration and actual cup-and-scale fit. Water and drain Commercial direct-water connection and drain required Rocket’s current overview describes a 4.3-inch TFT display and USB update capability. Browser programming is described in connection with a Wi-Fi module; confirm fitted hardware and software rather than assuming wireless functionality is included with every production version. Doppia vs. Boxer and R9 The Boxer 2 Group Tall Cup uses a 13.2-liter heat-exchanger boiler and a narrower 630mm body. It suits buyers who prioritize compactness and a more traditional commercial platform. Doppia’s separate coffee boiler and saturated groups are the more relevant upgrade when temperature control is the concern. The Rocket R9 2 Group uses two individual 1.9-liter coffee boilers rather than Doppia’s one shared 4-liter coffee boiler. Choose that arrangement when the menu benefits from separate group temperatures. Doppia remains a sensible comparison when both groups normally run the same recipe and the shared coffee system meets the business’s requirements. Design the Bar Around Real Peak Demand Forecast the busiest fifteen-minute period, milk-drink share, cup sizes and hot-water use. Then consider how the groups, grinders, pitchers, refrigeration and handoff will work together. The machine’s 848mm width is only part of the station; service clearance and space for staff must be included. Provide the final installation sheet to the electrician and plumber, test water before selecting treatment, and agree on delivery, commissioning and training responsibilities. Pair the machine with commercial grinders suitable for primary espresso, decaf or another coffee. For package planning, talk with Dylan at 815-954-4086. Rocket RE Doppia 2 Group FAQsUnderstanding the boiler system How many boilers does the two-group Doppia have? Two: a shared 4-liter coffee boiler and a 9-liter service boiler. Two brew groups do not mean two coffee boilers. This distinction separates Doppia from the two-group R9, which has three boilers in total. Can I set a different temperature on each Doppia group? Not as independently controlled coffee boilers. The two groups share the coffee system. A business requiring separate group temperatures should compare the R9 rather than assuming dual boiler means a dedicated boiler for each group. What does a saturated group mean here?It describes the group’s close thermal integration with the brewing system. The goal is stable group conditions during repeated use. It does not eliminate the need for a full warm-up or guarantee that changing coffee and puck preparation will produce the same extraction. Does Doppia have PID temperature control?Yes. PID regulation controls the coffee system, while pressure-transducer control manages the steam boiler. These are distinct control tasks. A steam-pressure setting should not be read as a direct brew-temperature setting. Is it better than a heat-exchanger Boxer? It adds separate coffee and steam systems and saturated groups. Those features are useful when more direct brew-temperature management matters. The Boxer can be a better fit when compact width, simpler architecture and the budget are the priorities. Does the pressure transducer provide espresso pressure profiling? No. In this context it is part of the steam-boiler control system. It is not a programmable extraction-pressure curve at the coffee puck. Do not confuse a steam-control sensor with pressure-profiling brew hardware. Daily controls and cups Are shot timers standard?Yes. Rocket lists shot timing as standard on Doppia. Use it to monitor extraction duration alongside dose, beverage yield and taste, rather than treating a target time as the sole definition of a correct shot. Does the machine stop automatically by weight? It uses automatic volumetric portion control, not a beverage scale. Programmed water delivery can still produce changing cup weights as the coffee and grind change. A scale remains useful for dialing in and checking recipes. Can both groups brew while milk is steaming?Yes. Separate coffee and steam systems support concurrent service. Actual sustained output still depends on the configured heating power, steam use, water conditions and the people and grinders supplying the station. What cup clearance does Doppia provide? The platform is adjustable. Rocket’s current webpage lists 85mm and 125mm positions, while its brochure describes approximately 80–130mm. Confirm the supplied machine when a tight cup fit matters; include scale height and portafilter spouts in the measurement. Does every Doppia include Wi-Fi?Do not assume so. Rocket describes module-enabled browser programming in its current overview. Ask which module and software are included in the quoted machine. USB software updates and a touchscreen do not by themselves establish wireless connectivity. Is Doppia suitable for two different coffees?Yes, when their recipes suit the shared brewing temperature and the grinder workflow is planned. A second grinder can preserve each coffee’s adjustment. For intentionally different group temperatures, the individual-boiler R9 is the more relevant comparison. Installation and ownership What electrical service does the 5kW machine require?Confirm the exact North American unit’s voltage, phase, maximum load, required circuit and connection. The 5kW rating is not a complete wiring instruction. Have a qualified electrician review the final specification before rough-in or generator selection. Does Doppia have a water tank?No internal reservoir is specified for this commercial listing. It needs a properly treated direct-water supply and drain. Mobile use requires a professionally designed supply and wastewater arrangement rather than a household reservoir workflow. How much counter space should I allow? The cabinet is approximately 848 × 603mm, but the station needs more than that. Allow for service panels, plumbing, pitcher movement, cups and grinders. Confirm loaded support and lifting requirements before installing the machine on a cart or counter. How should I maintain the saturated groups and boilers?Follow the supplied group-cleaning routine, keep screens and baskets clean, and purge and wipe steam wands after milk use. Track water-treatment performance and schedule preventive service. Backflushing removes coffee residue; it is not a substitute for correct water chemistry or qualified scale treatment. What should be included in my opening-day equipment quote?Specify the machine configuration, grinders, water treatment, freight and placement, utility work, commissioning, training and written service coverage. A machine-only price does not establish that these tasks or accessories are included. How do I request warranty help?Submit a support ticket with your order, model, serial number and photos of the issue. The one-year commercial warranty and any additional plan determine covered parts and service. Obtain approval before outside work or return shipment.
