The aim of the class is to enable participants to more effectively express their own psychological identities and to be able to convey one’s underlying emotions through the photographic image. This will be achieved through critiquing the work of the participants by Roger Ballen, who has developed a unique approach to evaluating the dynamics of the photographic image. During this workshop, students will be engaged to fulfill assignments at various sites in Venice followed by critiquing the work under Roger Ballen’s supervision. The class will also discuss how other artistic mediums such as drawing, painting and sculpture can be integrated with photography. There will be a session chaired by Roger Ballen bringing forth his experience and knowledge on how to exhibit and market photographic images.
