40QT Orbit Winch with Quick TrimRonstan’s Orbit Winches™ are the new benchmark in high performance alloy winches. With a combination of fresh design thinking and proven manufacturi ng expertise, Orbit Winches™ weigh significantly less and offer lower line entry heights than any other winch in their class. Remarkably easy to service, they require no tools for disassembly or maintenance. The machined aluminium drums feature the same Power Ribs™ that many sailors will recognize from Andersen Stainless Steel Winches®, well-known for their impressive line grip, smooth control, and minimal rope wear.Power Ribs™The exceptional grip provided by the Power Ribs™ offers a multitude of benefits: requiring fewer wraps around the drum, reducing the load held in the self-tailer, and encouraging the line to slide easily upward on the drum to avoid riding turns. The non-abrasive drum surface extends the service life of running rigging and allows smooth and controlled easing, even under high loads. No Tools RequiredFull disassembly and reassembly can conveniently be performed without the need for any tools. To remove the drum, pull back the spring-loaded release latch, and a slight anti-clockwise rotation will allow the self-tailing arm to be lifted from the winch. From there, the drum can be removed from the winch's center stem. When completing reassembly in reverse order, an audible click confirms positive engagement between the self-tailing arm and bayonet notches on the center stem. These notches allow the self-tailing arm to be locked in one of eight positions at rotational increments of 45 degrees.Orbit Winches™ sizes 30QT and 40QT are equipped with the unique, patented QuickTrim™ self-tailer. What is QuickTrim™?QuickTrim™ allows sailors to conveniently and safely ease the line without removing the winch handle or taking the line out of the self-tailer.A small anti-clockwise rotation of the self-tailing cover allows the self-tailer to turn beneath it like a sheave as the rope is eased, with confident grip and control assured by the drum’s smooth surface and Power Ribs™.Letting the top cover spring back into place locks the self-tailer again to resume normal use.Features: Lightweight machined aluminum drum Distinctive Power Ribs™ ensures a controlled grip at all times, whether tensioning or easing Proven Andersen winch gearing configuration No tools are required for configuration and servicing Sprung self-tailing jaws to accept 6-10mm line QuickTrim™ patented self-tailing feature for rapid sail trim and smooth adjustment (30QT & 40QT only) Materials: Hard anodized aluminum drum and center stem, aluminum self-tailing arm Grade 316 stainless steel shaft and pawls Grade 2205 stainless steel axle pins Aluminum bronze gears Glass-filled nylon self tailer Self-lubricating acetal bearings Specifications: Weight (kilogram): 3.1kg Power Ratio: 39.5:1 Base Diameter (millimeters): 151mm Maximum Pulling Load (kilogram): 850kg Drum Diameter (millimeters): 86mm Base Diameter (millimeters): 151mm Height (millimeters): 166mm Line Entry L (millimeters): 57mm Line Size (millimeters): 7-12mm Gear Ratio 1st Speed: 1.4:1 Gear Ratio 2nd Speed: 6.8:1 Power Ratio 1st Speed: 8.3:1 Power Ratio 2nd Speed: 39.5:1 Quick Guide (pdf)Owner's Manual (pdf).embed-container { position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; height: 0; overflow: hidden; max-width: 100%; } .embed-container iframe, .embed-container object, .embed-container embed { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; }.embed-container { position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; height: 0; overflow: hidden; max-width: 100%; } .embed-container iframe, .embed-container object, .embed-container embed { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; }.embed-container { position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; height: 0; overflow: hidden; max-width: 100%; } .embed-container iframe, .embed-container object, .embed-container embed { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; } Show more
